Session Title: Empowering Climate Action: The Water Resilience Tracker's Role in National Adaptation Planning

Session Description: The Water Resilience Tracker (WRT) is a pivotal tool and a component of the Just Transitions for Water Security (JTWS) program, a new initiative designed to integrate water resilience into national climate adaptation strategies. This session will delve into how the WRT enables comprehensive assessments of water systems, aiding countries in enhancing resilience against the multifaceted challenges posed by climate change and water scarcity.

Focusing on robustness and flexibility, the Water Resilience Tracker enables stakeholders to evaluate and adapt to a range of anticipated and unforeseen water-related impacts within their climate action plans. We will explore its role in strengthening the water components of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), which are crucial for achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement.

Attendees will hear from climate policy experts and national planners who have successfully implemented the Tracker, gaining insights into its practical benefits and strategic importance. The session aims to underscore the necessity of water-centric approaches in climate strategies, highlighting the Tracker as an essential instrument in aligning national efforts with global climate resilience objectives.
